Latvia's Olympic Uniforms to be Designed by Dan John for Milano Cortina 2026
The Latvian Olympic Committee (LOC) has announced that the official uniforms for the Latvian athletes and delegation at the upcoming Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics will be designed by the Italian fashion brand, Dan John.
The new uniforms, set to be unveiled at the beginning of next year, are intended to create an atmosphere of unity and strengthen the team's sense of belonging. They will meet all official requirements and be designed to be comfortable and functional, with the specific needs and requirements of the Winter Olympic Games in mind.
The collection will include a full set of uniforms, including outfits for the Latvian men's ice hockey team, men's and women's biathlon teams, and figure skaters. The uniforms will represent Latvia on the international arena at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, which will take place across multiple regions in Italy.
The design of the outfits will combine Latvian national colors and symbols with "Italian charm and modernity". The exact dates for each sport's competition have not been specified, but the Games will be held in six regions of Italy, with the opening ceremony scheduled for February 6, 2026, in Milan and the closing ceremony scheduled for February 22, 2026, in Venice.
The formation of the Latvian team is still ongoing, with competition for places in other Latvian Olympic teams continuing until next January. The financial terms of the cooperation between the Latvian Olympic Committee and Dan John have not been revealed.
The LOC President, Raimonds Lazdins, is involved in the decision-making process regarding the new uniforms, and has agreed upon the design and functionality of the uniforms with Dan John. The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics will feature 16 winter sports disciplines.
The selection of Dan John to provide official outfits for the Latvian delegation and athletes at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics was made by the Latvian Olympic Committee, and the new uniforms are expected to reflect both Latvian and Italian aesthetics.
