In the ongoing World Cup qualifiers, Italy and Kosovo have been making headlines with their impressive performances.

Italy, currently trailing Norway by three points, has a chance to take the first place and the direct qualifying spot in Group I. Their recent victory over Hungary in Debrecen, Hungary, sent them soaring above Israel, following an exciting 5-4 comeback win. Italy took an early lead through an own-goal by Israel, but managed to turn the game around, securing the win in the 91st minute with a strike by Tonali.

Meanwhile, Kosovo has been making waves in Group B. Despite finishing the game with 10 men, they managed to move into second place. Their standout moment came in a 2-0 win over Sweden, marking just their second-ever victory in World Cup qualifying. Augsburg midfielder Elvis Rexhbecaj opened the scoring for Kosovo on 26 minutes, and captain Muriqi doubled the lead before half-time with a powerful strike.

Sweden's campaign continues to falter, following a 2-0 loss to Kosovo and a last-gasp draw against Slovenia. The Premier League record signing Isak was introduced as a substitute in an attempt to salvage the game against Kosovo, but was unable to find the back of the net.

Elsewhere, Switzerland maintained their position at the top of Group B with a dominant first-half display against Slovenia, winning 3-0. Nico Elvedi, Breel Embolo, and Dan Ndoye scored for Switzerland, while Croatia took the lead in Group L with a 4-0 home victory over Montenegro. Kristijan Jakic, Edvin Kuc (own-goal), and Ivan Perisic scored for Croatia, with Andrej Kramaric adding his sixth goal of the campaign to top the qualification goal-scoring chart.

In other news, Montenegro won the match against the Faroe Islands in October 2025 with a score of 1-0. The game took place on October 10, 2025. Faroe Islands moved into third place in Group L with a 1-0 win over Gibraltar.

Denmark won 4-0 against Greece to move to the top of Group C, level on points with Scotland. These results set the stage for an exciting conclusion to the World Cup qualifiers.
