Joachim Blümer assumes presidency of KIWANIS-Club Solingen in latest development.
The Solingen service club KIWANIS recently saw a change in leadership as Joachim Blümer took over the presidential role from Hartmut Hoferichter. The handover took place in a recent meeting, where Hoferichter passed on the symbolic presidential chain adorned with the large K.
Blümer, who was previously the headmaster of the Theodor-Heuss-Realschule, expressed his gratitude towards Hoferichter for his dedication during his term as president. Hoferichter, in turn, highlighted the increase in members during his tenure and the club's accomplishments in local projects.
The KIWANIS Club Solingen has been dedicated to its motto "KIWANIS - for strong children in Solingen" for over two decades. The club's efforts have been diverse, ranging from providing winter jackets for needy kindergarten children, school backpacks for starters, to violence prevention projects in Solingen's primary schools. The club also equips IDOTZ with high-visibility vests.
In a unique move, the presidency of the club will be held by a dual leadership for the first time. Katja Herrguth and Martin Idelberger were elected as the first joint President-Elect of the Kiwanis Club Solingen. Their diverse professional and personal backgrounds will bring a fresh perspective to the club's leadership.
Since its founding in 2000, around 40 men and women have been actively involved in the KIWANIS Club Solingen for social projects. The club's efforts have been instrumental in helping children in Solingen become strong and confident individuals.
Blümer, in his new role, expressed his desire for a continued collaborative effort in the club for the children of Solingen. He also emphasised that the club's supported projects are always local, sustainable, and focus on children who may not typically have advantages in life.
KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL, one of the world's largest and oldest service club organisations, supports young people worldwide. The Solingen service club KIWANIS, with its long-standing commitment to children, is a testament to this global mission.
Hoferichter, before stepping down, was presented with the city's honorary ring in recognition of his service to the community. As the new president takes over, the club looks forward to continuing its mission of helping children in Solingen.
