John Kerry to Keynote at WTTC Global Summit in Perth

Former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has been announced as the keynote speaker for the 68th Global Summit of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) taking place in Perth, Western Australia from 8th - 10th October.

Kerry, a decorated Vietnam War veteran, is renowned for his commitment to public service. He has earned a Silver Star, a Bronze Star with Combat V, and three Purple Hearts, and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2024 for his lifetime dedication to public service.

In addition to his military background, Kerry has led strategies on nuclear non-proliferation, countering extremism, and signed the Paris Agreement on climate change in 2015. In 2021, he became the first Special Presidential Envoy for Climate and the first Principal to focus solely on climate issues in the National Security Council. During 2021 and 2024, he advanced global climate diplomacy by securing commitments from major emitters to reduce greenhouse gases, facilitating international climate finance agreements, and promoting the implementation of the Paris Agreement.

As a best-selling author, Kerry will bring a unique perspective to the WTTC Global Summit, which will focus on strategies for the continued growth and sustainability of global Travel & Tourism.

The Global Summit will also feature Robert Irwin, a wildlife warrior, producer, author, and photographer, renowned for his advocacy for the natural world.
