In a groundbreaking collaboration, Polestar has launched Abbey Road Studios Mode, an innovative in-car sound mode co-developed by Abbey Road Studios and Bowers & Wilkins. This new feature aims to elevate the listening experience by replicating the unique sounds of Abbey Road Studios.
The mode offers four distinct presets: Intimate, Expansive, Open, and Energised. Grammy-nominated musician Jon Hopkins was invited to create new music for the Intimate and Expansive presets.
The Intimate preset track, a subtle and contemplative piece, evokes the quiet and private feeling of being in one of Abbey Road Studios' control rooms. On the other hand, the Expansive preset track aims to feel both vast and personal, simultaneously embracing space and detail.
Jon Hopkins' Expansive preset track is an improvisatory piece that captures the sound of Studio Two, a famous creative space at Abbey Road Studios. The challenge for rising jazz star corto.alto was to reimagine two of his most impactful tracks to highlight the unique sonic characteristics of Abbey Road Studios Mode in Polestar 3.
For Hopkins, working on this project in one of the most famous rooms in music was a unique and surreal experience. He created the Expansive preset track to feel both vast and personal, simultaneously embracing space and detail, much like Studio Two itself.
Studio Two at Abbey Road Studios has been at the centre of Britain's music scene since it opened in 1931. The room has played host to iconic recordings by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and many more.
Polestar 3 owners can enjoy these new presets as part of the latest over-the-air music update. The update also includes a producer mode, allowing users to customise their audio experience with tailored sound settings.
Abbey Road Studios Mode is available exclusively with the Bowers & Wilkins audio system in Polestar 3. This partnership marks another step in Polestar's commitment to delivering exceptional audio experiences in its vehicles.
