Junjie He Triumphs at Record-Breaking APT Incheon Main Event

Junjie He, a poker player from China, has made a significant impact on the Asian poker scene with his victory at the APT Incheon 2025 Main Event held at Paradise City Casino. This tournament broke records with a staggering 1,281 entries, surpassing the previous record of 1,089 entries set at APT Jeju 2024.

The massive field generated a prize pool of KRW 2,766,660,000 (approximately $2 million), far exceeding its KRW 1.5 billion guarantee. Junjie He emerged victorious after a gruelling nine-handed final table, defeating Japan's Kouki Okumiya in the final heads-up.

He maintained his position as the chip leader throughout the final table, eliminating two players on his way to securing the title. A three-way ICM deal was made with Okumiya and Kuroda Kiyoto before He closed out the competition against Okumiya.

The final table attracted players from 27 countries, with Japan topping the entry list with 484 players, followed by China with 299 entries. The top three players secured significant payouts and seats to the APT Championship Main Event in November.

Junjie He's victory resulted in a career-best payday of KRW 380,520,000 (~USD 275,140). Okumiya earned KRW 315.5M as the runner-up, while Kuroda pocketed KRW 266M after his elimination by Okumiya.

The tournament began with two eliminations in the first three hands, with Thanisorn Saelor (6th, Japan) ending his deep run after back-to-back defeats. Anusorn Asiralertsiri (5th, Thailand) was eliminated by Okumiya, followed by Naoki Ota (6th, Japan), Mingyang Na (7th), Bin Li (8th), Daniel Lee (9th), and Kuroda (3rd, Japan).

The 24K gold lion trophy, the symbol of the APT Incheon Main Event, now belongs to Junjie He, marking his emergence as a significant figure in the Asian poker scene. His victory also secured him a seat to November's APT Championship Main Event, making it a double celebration for the Chinese poker prodigy.
