In the heart of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the Russian Cup Final in the super-giant alpine skiing discipline took place, and it was a triumphant day for the Kamchatka Krai team.

Ivan Kuznetsov, a representative from Kamchatka, clinched the men's title with an impressive time of 1:09.07. His victory was not a one-off, as he also won the second stage and the Russian Cup Final in the men's category. Alexander Andrienko from Kaluga Oblast finished third, a mere second behind Kuznetsov.

In the women's category, Yulia Pleshkova from Kamchatka Krai outshone her competitors with a time of 1:11.37. Ekaterina Tkachenko from Moscow finished second, trailing Pleshkova by 2.24 seconds. Darina Iohvidovich from Sakhalin Oblast completed the podium, finishing third, 2.90 seconds behind Pleshkova.

The regional governor of Kamchatka expressed their support and pride for the victories, stating it was a great way to start the day with such good news. Pavel Trichichev from St. Petersburg and Ekaterina Tkachenko gave a tough challenge to Kuznetsov and Pleshkova, but the Kamchatka athletes dominated the slopes of Sakhalin.

Coach Vladimir Zakharov, who trains alpine skier Yulia Pleshkova, witnessed the historic victories firsthand. The team's success in the Russian Cup Final marks a significant achievement for the Kamchatka alpine skiing team.

As the dust settles on the slopes of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the Kamchatka athletes can look back on their victories with pride.
