Katja Burkard gets hitched in a wedding ceremony.
In a heartwarming ceremony, RTL Moderator Katja Burkard exchanged vows with her partner, media manager Hans Mahr, on Saturday. The couple, who are parents to Marie-Therese (24) and Katharina (18), chose Austria as the location for their nuptials.
The civil ceremony, however, took place in the Maldives, with only their two daughters and Mahr's sons in attendance. Burkard mentioned in an interview with "Bild" that they had been constantly asked when they would marry, and they decided to tie the knot now that their children have passed certain milestones.
The exact date of the wedding remains undisclosed, but Burkard shared a photo of herself from the special day on Instagram, accompanied by the caption, "We said YES and are very happy." The location of the wedding ceremony after the civil ceremony is also not revealed.
Interestingly, Burkard mentioned that their daughters had already been baptized in a small chapel. The location of this chapel remains undisclosed, adding a touch of mystery to the couple's story.
Hans Mahr, who is 76 years old, and Katja Burkard, who is 60, have not yet revealed many details about their wedding, choosing to keep the focus on their love for each other and their family.
Their daughters, Marie-Therese and Katharina, were previously baptized in a small chapel, the location of which remains undisclosed. Burkard and Mahr proposed and got married on the Maldives in April, and their joy is evident in the Instagram photo shared by Burkard.
