Kazakh Poker Players' Recent Online Tournament Performance Ranked at Number 53
Unfiltered, Uncensored, Unapologetic Update:
In the dog-eat-dog world of online poker, our local badass, "LuckyRin," managed a damn decent 4th place finish in the Sunday $44 Bigger on PokerStars. With 1,122 players, this event was a gauntlet of Texas Hold'em mayhem, but our man LuckyRin cashed out a cool $3,186.48.
The Sunday $5.50 Bigger wasn't any less brutal, as "Raffaello577" battled his way through 8,523 opponents and emerged 5th. His winnings? A solid $1,747.21 - not too shabby for a Sunday afternoon.
Two of our poker pros, "no_hedge77" and "FromKZ-ATA," scored a respectable 445th and 504th respectively in the Sunday Million. With a prize pool of $1,137,200 and 5,686 entrants (the top prize was a whopping $177,860), our boys took home a meager $409.39 and $386.64 respectively.
On the European front, "Nikks15" caused a splash in the Sunday Monsoon on LotosPoker, finishing 7th in the $55 buy-in, $40,000 guaranteed event. The Kazakhstan team in the World Cup of Poker 2015 is still smashing through the competition, with a recent victory over Ukraine, advancing them to the semifinals. Notable Kazakh players in the quarterfinals included "LuckyGIRL GO," "5192221," "mrVentoStar," and "Badger449."
Keep an eye on the World Cup of Poker forum for updates. The December stage of the LotosPoker Cup has begun, but there's yet to be a Kazakh in the top 20 - stay tuned!
