Kazakhstan witnesses the advancement of avant-garde educational strategies, spearheaded by TIKA.
In the heart of Kazakhstan, the city of Kokshetau recently witnessed an educational milestone. The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) organised a six-day Integrated Learning and Teaching (STEM) training program for 120 local educators, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education of Turkey.
The program, held at Kokshetau, aimed to enhance the professional knowledge and competencies of teachers, integrating modern teaching methods into classroom practices and contributing to students' acquisition of 21st-century skills. Two experts from Turkey's Ministry of National Education trained the teachers on STEM and the Al-Khwarizmi Education Model (HEM).
The certificate ceremony for this successful training program was held at the prestigious Bolaşak Palace. A formal gathering, the event was graced by the presence of Ömer Inan, the education counselor at Türkiye's Embassy in Astana, Fuat Erdoğmuş, TIKA's Astana coordinator, Aynagül Baltaşeva, head of the Akmola Province Directorate of Education, and other education officials and teachers.
Fuat Erdoğmuş emphasized the importance of STEM training, stating that it develops critical 21st-century skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork. Mahabbat Beysenbayeva, a computer teacher at Kökşetau No. 8 General Education School, expressed her enjoyment of collaborating with teachers from other subjects during the training.
During the training, teachers developed interdisciplinary learning scenarios and designed STEM Al-Khwarizmi projects. The culmination of their hard work was evident at the ceremony, as teachers presented the projects they had developed.
This STEM training program is just the beginning for TIKA's support of educational projects in Kazakhstan. The agency has also planned to continue its efforts by offering Turkish-language training programs on archival studies and professional tourism in Astana.
As the educators return to their classrooms, they are equipped with new skills and a renewed passion for integrating modern teaching methods, fostering an environment conducive to the development of 21st-century skills in their students. The ripple effects of this program are set to positively impact the educational landscape of Kazakhstan for years to come.
