Kick-off of the fresh training period at Greifswald's Town Hall administration
In the historic University and Hanseatic City of Greifswald, six eager trainees began their journey today, marking the start of a comprehensive training programme that covers various aspects of municipal governance.
Mayor Dr. Stefan Fassbinder welcomed the new trainees, along with the trainers and the chairman of the works council at St. Spiritus. In his address, the Mayor expressed his gratitude to all employees involved in the training process, highlighting the meticulous selection process that led to the chosen six. A total of 46 applicants competed, but these six stood out.
The training programme is designed to offer a holistic understanding of the city's operations, covering areas such as personnel, construction, environment and sustainability, school, culture, social affairs, economy, safety, finances, and more. This diverse curriculum aims to equip the trainees with insights into multiple city departments.
This year, two men and one woman started their training as administrative assistants. One man is being trained as a street sweeper, one as a gardener, and another woman as a specialist for media and information services in the city library. Each trainee will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in their respective fields, contributing to the smooth running of the city's operations.
Successful completion of the training programme presents promising employment opportunities within the city. The Mayor emphasised the city's commitment to nurturing talent and providing a platform for these young adults to grow and contribute to the city's development.

This initiative underscores the city's dedication to fostering young talent and investing in its future. As the trainees embark on this exciting journey, they carry with them the hopes and expectations of the city, and the assurance of a supportive and nurturing environment.
