Kickoff for Eco-Action Weeks 2025 Begins
Eco-Action Weeks Kick off in Baden-Württemberg
The Eco-Action Weeks, a series of events aimed at promoting organic farming and regional organic products, have commenced in Baden-Württemberg from September 8 to October 26, 2025. The Ministry of Food, Rural Areas, and Consumer Protection Baden-Württemberg, along with the MBW Marketing Society, is responsible for the organisation of these weeks.
The opening event took place in Eichstetten am Kaiserstuhl, with Rinklin Naturkost, a pioneer in ecological agriculture and food industry in Baden-Württemberg, hosting the ceremony. Rinklin Naturkost, which has been operating for 50 years, is commended for its commitment to regional organic farming. The company is a member of the Working Group on Organic Farming Baden-Württemberg and was involved in the founding of the Bio-Label Baden-Württemberg.
State Secretary Sabine Kurtz expressed her appreciation for Rinklin Naturkost's long-standing expertise in organic farming. She also emphasised the importance of meeting the growing demand for organic products with locally produced goods, as outlined in the Action Plan "Bio from Baden-Württemberg".
The Bio Label of the State of Baden-Württemberg is a quality label for organic products. It meets the legal requirements of the EU Organic Regulation (VO (EU) No 2018/848) and additional requirements of the Bio Label of Baden-Württemberg. This label helps consumers identify high-quality organic products.
Citizens can contact the Ministry of Food, Rural Areas, and Consumer Protection via a contact form on their website (https://www.melfo.bwl.de/DE/MF/Service/Kontakt/Kontakt.html). For press-related inquiries, the Press Office can be contacted via email (https://www.melfo.bwl.de/DE/MF/Service/Presse/Presse.html).
The associations of organic farming, united in the Working Group on Organic Farming, support and accompany the Eco-Action Weeks as cooperation partners. The events aim to educate people about organic farming and regional organic products. In 2024, 15.3 percent of the agricultural area in Baden-Württemberg was farmed organically, and the goal is to increase this to 30-40 percent by 2030.
