Kicks off the 2025/2026 concert season, fresh conducting maestro Tabita Berglund makes her debut appearance.

In an exciting musical event, the Dresden Philharmonic, one of Germany's premier orchestras, will be hosting a concert themed "New Worlds" on the 29th and 30th of August, starting at 19.00 Uhr at Kulturpalast. The concert will feature internationally acclaimed conductor, Tabita Berglund, making her debut as the first guest conductor of the Dresden Philharmonic.

Berglund, who has enchanted audiences with her performances in various projects, including those with Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky, and most recently at the Dresden City Festival, will lead the ensemble through an extraordinary musical journey.

The concert will feature two significant works. Truls Mørk, a cellist of international renown, will perform Dvořák's Cello Concerto in B minor, a piece known for its emotional depth and technical complexity. Mørk's performance is sure to be a highlight of the concert.

The second piece, Bartók's Concerto for Orchestra (1943/45), is a challenging work that promises to test the ensemble's skills and deliver an impressive musical experience for the audience.

In addition to these works, Rolf Gupta's "Song of the Earth" ("Jordens sang") will be performed in its epilogue. Gupta, a trained composer and conductor, has created an oratorio for orchestra, choir, and soloists based on ancient Indian texts, the Bible, and texts by Friedrich Schiller and Gustav Mahler. The epilogue of this powerful work will be performed by the Dresden Philharmonic.

The concert will also feature Sandrina Sperlich as one of the soloists. Invitations to top orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Bamberg Symphony, and the Staatskapelle Berlin have followed Berglund's success.

Tickets for this unmissable event can be obtained through the ticket service of the Dresden Philharmonic at www.dresdnerphilharmonie.de. Don't miss out on the opportunity to witness Berglund's debut with the Dresden Philharmonic and experience the musical masterpieces of Dvořák, Bartók, and Gupta.
