Lafayette's Imminent Art and Wine Event: Essential Details Ahead

Get ready for a vibrant and exciting weekend as the Lafayette Art & Wine Festival returns to downtown Lafayette, California, on September 20 and 21. This annual event, now in its 15th year, promises to be a celebration of local talent, art, music, and culinary delights.

Festival Details and Location

The festival will take place from 10am to 7pm on September 20 and 10am to 6pm on September 21. The event spans most of downtown Lafayette, making it easily accessible whether by BART, car, or a leisurely stroll from downtown shops. The festival is just one block from the Lafayette BART station (south exit).

Parking and Transportation

Parking is free in the Lafayette BART lots, and shuttle pickup tents will be located in the western parking lot. For those arriving by bike, a complimentary bike valet is set up at 81 Lafayette Circle (Lamorinda Music parking). Shuttle buses will run continuously between the Lafayette BART lot and the event entrance during the festival hours.

Art, Crafts, and Food

With over 250 artist and craft booths, the festival offers a wide range of items from fine art and jewelry to woodworking, clothing, ceramics, and more. For food enthusiasts, there are over 30 local food vendors and restaurants serving a variety of food options within the festival footprint.

Music and Entertainment

Music is a significant part of the festival, with over 20 live bands performing on four stages. Some of the returning bands include The Sun Kings (Beatles/'60s), East Bay Mudd (funk/R&B), and new bands like Jimbo Scott & Yesterday's Biscuits (country-swing group). The festival also offers four Kid Zones with rides, games, and activities for all ages, as well as kid-friendly, hyper-local entertainment on the Community Stage.

Supporting the Community

Proceeds from the festival support Lafayette Partners in Education (LPIE) and other nonprofits. Purchasing a wine glass or local beer at the festival helps support local schools and organizations. Last year's festival earnings gave over $90,000 to schools and charities.
