Lamar University Experiences Stable, Dependable Amplification Thanks to Powersoft
Neches Federal Credit Union Arena at the Montagne Center Upgrades Audio System
The Neches Federal Credit Union Arena at the Montagne Center, a multipurpose indoor arena and events center at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX, has been upgraded with a new high-end audio system. The university aimed to bring the system up to date with current technology and improve the experience for those attending events.
The new audio system, designed and specified by Anthony James Partners (AJP), comprises four Unica 8K8, two Quattrocanali 8804 DSP+D, and one Ottocanali 8K4 amplifier platforms. The speakers in the new system are an all-Fulcrum setup consisting of 20 FH15 and 24 CX826 speakers and four Sub218L subwoofers.
The system was designed to meet the multifunctional needs of the arena and increase intelligibility. It replaced an older setup with just "one large full-range box and a few delay speakers". The new setup includes a Midas M32 console, four Shure ULXD wireless microphones, a Q-SYS Core 110f processor, and NETGEAR M4250 switches.
The audio system upgrade was installed and configured by Bluum Technology. The new audio system is powered by the Dante AV-over-IP network, with the Powersoft amplifiers and networking equipment housed in Middle Atlantic WRK racks.
Acoustics planning for the new system was carried out by acoustics consultant Acentech. The new audio system at the Neches Federal Credit Union Arena at the Montagne Center provides enough power to meet the demand of the space, ensuring a clear and immersive audio experience for all attendees.
With the new audio system in place, the Neches Federal Credit Union Arena at the Montagne Center is well-positioned to host a variety of events, from concerts and sporting events to conferences and graduations, with improved sound quality and enhanced audience experience.
