On August 28, 2025, several incidents occurred across the region, causing damage and raising concerns.

In the most serious incident, a car accident took place on the B 69 at the Lohner Straße exit towards Oldenburg at around 18:50. The 24-year-old driver from Essen (Oldb) and his 23-year-old passenger from Cloppenburg were involved in the accident, which caused approximately 16,000 EUR worth of damage. No further details about the driver or passenger were provided, but a blood sample was taken from the driver, and his driver's license was seized. It is suspected that the driver was under the influence of alcohol (0.5 promille) and cocaine, although the cause of the accident remains unknown.

In a separate incident, a rear-end collision occurred between two cars on Bakumer Straße at an unspecified time. Both vehicles sustained significant damage. The collision occurred when a 28-year-old driver from Minden, intending to turn left, was hit from behind by a 26-year-old driver from Lohne who did not notice. No information about the condition of the drivers or passengers involved was provided.

Another incident took place at a woodworking company on Fallenriede, where a fire was reported in a chimney at around 11:25. Despite employees' attempts to extinguish the fire, the fire department was called. The extent of the damage from the fire is not yet known. An employee was taken to the hospital due to suspected smoke inhalation.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire, and no information was provided about any potential witnesses or leads.

A hit-and-run incident also occurred on Kapitelplatz, Vechta, between 06:25 and 17:10. A parked Mercedes V-Class was hit, causing approximately 1000 EUR worth of damage. No information was provided about any ongoing investigations or charges related to this incident.
