Law enforcement agencies are currently working to establish the individual behind the alleged perpetrator
In Siegburg, Germany, on August 18, a theft of 1,000 euros occurred at a bank branch on "An der Stadtmauer" street. The incident involved the cash withdrawn from the account of an 81-year-old woman, whose 82-year-old partner was attempting to retrieve the money.
The elderly man approached the ATM at around 11:50 AM, entered his PIN, and initiated the withdrawal. However, after a brief delay, the ATM failed to respond, and upon seeking assistance from a bank employee, he returned to the machine to find that the 1,000 euros had disappeared.
The Rhein-Sieg District Police Headquarters are now seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect connected to the theft. A court order has enabled the police to publish a photo of the unidentified woman who approached the cash machine at the time of the incident. The photo can be viewed on the North Rhine-Westphalia Police's wanted persons portal at this link: https://polizei.nrw/fahndung/179485.
The police are asking anyone who recognises the woman in the photo to contact them. The phone number for providing information about the woman is 02241 541-3121. For further inquiries, you can contact the Rhein-Sieg District Police Headquarters Press Office at 02241/541-2222.
The Rhein-Sieg District Police Headquarters confirmed that the theft occurred at their premises, though it is unclear how the suspect gained access to the bank's internal systems. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
