Law enforcement agents apprehend a man on charges of sexual abuse and physical violence.

In the heart of Berlin- Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, two disturbing incidents have taken place, with the federal police now investigating a 34-year-old Polish national for sexual harassment and assault.

The first incident occurred at around 6:45 p.m. at the S-Bahn station Warschauer Straße, where a man allegedly struck a woman in the neck without warning. The victim, a 26-year-old German woman, suffered redness from the blow. The perpetrator was later identified and taken into custody by the federal police at the same station.

A few hours earlier, at around 1:30 p.m., another incident took place at Berlin's Ostbahnhof. Here, the man is suspected of sexually harassing a 21-year-old German woman, with a staff member of the "Violence against Women" hotline providing support to the victim after the incident.

The federal police have secured video recordings from both incidents, which allowed the known Polish national to be recognized again. The man was subsequently issued a ban from the stations Warschauer Straße and Ostbahnhof after completing all measures.

The federal police have not announced any specific charges against the man at this time. They have also not disclosed whether the man has a prior criminal record or any plans for future actions or precautions related to the incidents.

The head of the Berlin State Police Directorate (Landespolizeidirektion Berlin) is Jörg Dessin. The federal police, a separate entity, would have a separate leadership not detailed here.

The federal police are urging anyone with information related to these incidents to contact their press office for the Federal Police Directorate Berlin, which can be reached at the provided contact information.

The federal police suspect that the man is responsible for both the assault at the S-Bahn station Warschauer Straße and the sexual assault at Berlin's Ostbahnhof. The investigations are ongoing.
