Law enforcement detains a 30-year-old individual behind the wheel due to an outstanding warrant
In a recent incident, case number 0741 in Dortmund's police records, a single-vehicle accident involving a scooter occurred on Zum Luftschacht at approximately 11:50 PM on August 25.
The police received a tip from a witness about the accident, and a search for the suspect began. During the search, a police dog was deployed. The suspect, a 30-year-old Dortmund resident, was found at his home on Ringstraße.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that the man involved in the accident was under the influence of alcohol. Moreover, he was found to be driving without a license, and the scooter involved in the accident was not insured. The estimated damage caused by the accident is around 1,000 euros.
The crashed scooter and the suspect's personal belongings were found at the scene of the accident. The suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, followed by jail due to an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Criminal proceedings were initiated against the man for driving under the influence, hit-and-run, driving without a license, and violating the mandatory insurance law.
