In an unexpected turn of events, a vehicle combination transporting a brand-new electric tractor unit was stopped by the Traffic Inspection of the Hesse State Police Headquarters on Tuesday, August 26. The incident occurred on the A5 near Mörfelden-Walldorf.

The vehicle was found to be overloaded by 14 percent, with the cargo distribution being inadequate, causing the axle loads and total weight of the tractor unit to be significantly exceeded. Moreover, the cargo securing of the vehicle did not meet any valid regulations.

The transport company involved in this incident was fined, but their name remains undisclosed in the provided information. The drivers were also stopped on the A5 near Mörfelden-Walldorf and Weiterstadt for these infractions, although the company name was not specified.

A 30-ton bucket loader was being transported on the A5 near Weiterstadt without an escort vehicle for rear protection, further adding to the safety concerns. The journey was stopped for a second time due to these issues.

The driver of the vehicle was not allowed to continue his journey and had to unload the electric tractor unit. Fines and points in Flensburg are still pending for the driver, the responsible loader, and the person in charge of the freight forwarder.

A profit-taking measure was initiated by the police, with the entrepreneur having to pay 2500 euros in advance. Over 2000 euros were collected from the freight forwarder to secure a potential profit-taking measure against the transport company.
