Law enforcement officials scouring the Dithmarschen district for a suspected human trafficker
The Federal Police Inspectorate Ludwigsdorf has launched an investigation into a suspected case of commercial and organized illegal entry into the country, following a series of incidents in August 2025. According to a report from news aktuell, the targeted individual is a 21-year-old Yemeni national.
On August 20, around 60 Federal Police officers, including special forces from the Federal Reserve Police, conducted searches in two apartments in Heide and Lohe-Rickelshof (District of Dithmarschen). The operation, which involved the seizure of several mobile phones and other evidence, was aimed at gathering information about the suspect's activities.
The transportation of the third-country nationals was carried out using a Polish rental truck, in three separate incidents. The vehicle was left behind after one of these incidents, allowing for a forensic examination.
The investigation is being conducted by the Federal Police Inspectorate Ludwigsdorf on behalf of the Public Prosecutor's Office in Dresden, branch office Pirna. The suspect, who was later identified through DNA evidence and witness statements, was found and questioned during the operation.
The 21-year-old boy from Yemen was charged in 2023 with repeatedly illegally transporting third-country nationals from Slovakia to Germany using a rental vehicle. After the last trip, a traffic accident occurred in Dresden, and the suspect fled the scene without reporting it.
The suspect is believed to have transported 43 third-country nationals from Slovakia to Germany in June 2023. No restrictive measures have been taken in the investigation, and press inquiries can be directed to the Federal Police Inspectorate Ludwigsdorf Press Spokesman A. Alfred Klaner at 0175 / 9029565 or via email at [email protected].
