A police operation was initiated in the town of Bocholt, Germany, on August 16, 2025, following shots fired from a balcony on Knuf Street. The incident occurred at 5:45 PM, and no threat was posed to bystanders.
The crime was the result of a dispute over loud music. A 35-year-old resident of Bocholt triggered the police operation, surrendering to the authorities without resistance. Upon investigation, it was found that the suspect was significantly under the influence of alcohol, leading to a blood test order.
During a search of his apartment, police found several blank guns, air rifles, a crossbow, and cartridge casings suggesting the shots came from a blank pistol.
