Layoffs at Strasbourg's workforce imminent, with new employees on the horizon
Transfer News: Racing Strasbourg in High Demand and Active Market
Racing Strasbourg, the Alsatian club that qualified for the group stage of the Europa Conference League, is currently the centre of attention in the European transfer market. The club, which has seen a significant overhaul in the summer transfer window, has signed 15 new players and let 17 go.
One of the most sought-after players from Racing Strasbourg is Dilane Bakwa, a 23-year-old winger. Bakwa, who has been the subject of three rejected offers from Nottingham Forest, has also attracted interest from Leeds and Fulham. However, his future at the club is uncertain, as he declared his Thursday evening match to be his last for Racing Strasbourg, and it remains to be seen if he will be on the team sheet for the next game in Monaco.
Another player generating interest is Soumaïla Coulibaly, who is currently the player most likely to depart from Racing Strasbourg. Meanwhile, the club is expected to bring in Martial Godo, a 22-year-old Ivorian winger from Fulham, for a fee of 7 M€. Godo's arrival could potentially be followed by the arrivals of Julio Enciso, a 21-year-old Paraguayan attacker from Brighton, for 18.5 M€ (excluding bonuses), and Valentin Atangana, a midfielder from Reims, for 15 M€. If these transfers go through, Racing Strasbourg will have spent nearly 150 M€ this summer.
Auxerre and Anderlecht have shown interest in Seko Mara, a 23-year-old forward under contract until 2029. Mara is expected to be loaned out, while Oscar Perea, another young talent, could potentially leave the club. Rabby Nzingoula, a 19-year-old with a contract until 2027, is also being considered for transfer.
Elsewhere, Pape Demba Diop, a 21-year-old midfielder with a contract until 2030, is attracting interest from Metz and Zulte-Waregem. Meanwhile, Rayane Messi was loaned out to Pau on Saturday evening.
In addition, Wolfsburg and Nantes have shown interest in Junior Mwanga, a 22-year-old striker with a contract until 2027. However, it remains to be seen if Mwanga will be sold, as he may only leave if a good offer is received. Eduard Sobol, a 30-year-old defender with a contract until 2026, may also depart from Racing Strasbourg.
As the transfer window continues, Racing Strasbourg remains at the heart of the action, with multiple incoming and outgoing transfers shaping the future of the club.
