SV Leonberg/Eltingen Handball Team Prepares for Oberliga Season

The handball teams of SV Leonberg/Eltingen, known as the Leonberger Wildcats, have been busy preparing for the upcoming Oberliga season. The men's team, under the guidance of new coach Frank Gehrmann, has been working tirelessly, but as of August 2025, they are yet to celebrate their first victory with the team.

In their last match, the men's team faced VfL Nagold and unfortunately lost with a score of 46:27. The beginning of their preparations was marked by many technical errors and inaccurate goal attempts. However, they managed to take advantage of their opponents' mistakes in the match.

Meanwhile, the women's team has had a more successful run. They had a test match against VfL Nagold and led 9:2 after just ten minutes. The team performed better in minimizing errors against Landesliga newcomers Hbi Weilimdorf/Feuerbach. They concluded their test matches with a victory, winning against VfL Nagold with a score of 32:14.

The men's team is still waiting for their first win under coach Gehrmann. They have completed intensive training sessions and two test matches in the past two weeks. The upcoming test match is against SpVgg Mössingen, scheduled for next Tuesday at the Leonberg sports center.

The season will officially begin for both teams on September 20th. The men's team will face TuS Otternheim, while further details about the women's team's first match are yet to be announced.

As the teams continue their preparations, fans are eagerly waiting to see how the new season unfolds for the Leonberger Wildcats.
