Limited-edition whiskeys revealed by Angel's Envy: two unique bottles trumpeting exclusivity

Angel's Envy Launches Two Limited-Edition Whiskeys

Angel's Envy, the renowned bourbon distillery based in Louisville, Kentucky, has unveiled two new limited-edition whiskeys. The Two-Grain Bourbon Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and the Peated Cask Rye Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey Finished in Scotch Barrels are now available, each offering a unique flavour profile for whiskey connoisseurs.

The Peated Cask Rye Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey is a six-year-old rye whiskey that underwent a distinctive finishing process. It was aged in peated scotch casks sourced from Islay, Scotland, imparting a smoky flavour to the spirit. In contrast, the Two-Grain Bourbon Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a blend of 50 barrels, aged in new charred barrels from Kelvin Cooperage and bottled at 112 proof.

These exclusive whiskeys are distillery-only releases, meaning they can be purchased directly from the Angel's Envy distillery in Louisville. Each bottle retails for $55. For those unable to visit the distillery, the Angel's Envy lineup can be purchased at websites like ReserveBar.

Master distiller Owen Martin played a significant role in the creation of these new whiskeys. He aged Louisville tap water in Angel's Envy rye whiskey barrels for ten months and used that to proof down the Peated Cask Rye Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey. This process contributed to the unique flavour of the Peated Cask Rye.

Meanwhile, the Two-Grain Bourbon Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is made from a mashbill of 90 percent corn from Langley Farms in Shelbyville, Kentucky, and 10 percent malted barley. This bourbon was cut to 116 proof and then put back into the same barrels for further aging.

Jonah Flicker, the current whiskey critic for various publications, has been writing a weekly review of newsworthy whiskey releases. Flicker, a freelance writer, has had his work published in numerous spirits industry publications.

In other whiskey news, WhistlePig has released its oldest and most expensive whiskey to date. Meanwhile, The Macallan is set to release a vermouth designed for cocktails, marking a departure from their traditional whiskey offerings.

However, not all news in the spirits industry is positive. Michael Jordan's Cincoro tequila is facing a lawsuit claiming it is not made from 100% agave. This allegation, if proven, could have significant implications for the brand's reputation and sales.

As always, whiskey enthusiasts and collectors will have much to look forward to in the coming months, with these new releases from Angel's Envy and other distilleries promising exciting flavour profiles and innovative production methods.
