Linkin Park Achieves Another Notable Chart Milestone
Deftones and Sleep Token have taken the music world by storm, with both bands achieving significant commercial success on the Billboard charts.
This week, Deftones' new album, Private Music, has invaded the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, a list of the most-consumed tracks in that style. The album has debuted in lofty positions, with "Infinite Source" launching at No. 1 and "My Mind Is a Mountain" climbing to No. 2. Deftones has also claimed eight top 10s on the chart, with "Souvenir" debuting at No. 8 and "Cut Hands" at No. 10.
The band's winning streak on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart is interrupted only by "Specter" from Bad Omens and "Caramel" by Sleep Token. However, Sleep Token controls nearly half of the entire 25-spot ranking on the chart with its album Even in Arcadia. "Caramel" by Sleep Token dips to No. 9 this week, while "cXz," "Departing the Body" and "Metal Dream" start at Nos. 12, 15 and 16, respectively.
Sleep Token achieves the same feat as Deftones, filling at least the top six (and at times the highest eight) spaces on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart for a month between May and June 2025 with tracks from its latest album Even in Arcadia. The last time the entire Top 6 of the Hot Hard Rock Songs Chart was occupied by one band was by Deftones, who reached number 1 with their song "my mind is a mountain."
Deftones is now the third act in history to occupy an entire top six on a chart at one time. Linkin Park was the first to do so. This week, Deftones occupy the highest six spaces on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, a testament to their strong song debut and a distinctive sound across nine studio albums.
Every track on the album, Private Music, is a winner on the hard rock rankings in the country. With this achievement, Deftones makes history by tying two of the most successful acts on the harder side of rock of the past several years.
It's an exciting time for hard rock fans, with both Deftones and Sleep Token dominating the charts and pushing the genre to new heights.
