List of Major German IT Service Providers: Top 25 Technology Firms in Germany for the Year 2025
In the world of IT, the race for dominance continues, with several key players making significant strides in Germany and the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland). Let's take a look at the top system houses that maintained their positions in 2024, and some newcomers that made their debut.
Bechtle, a German system house and managed service provider, continued its impressive run, ranking among the Top 25 system houses for the eighth consecutive year. With a domestic turnover of 3.722 billion euros, Bechtle is well-represented across DACH, Benelux, Italy, France, Spain, and the UK. However, the company faced a slight setback in 2024, experiencing a decline in revenue for the first time, leading to a reduction in working hours for 300 of its over 15,000 employees.
Another consistent performer is Computacenter, an international system house. Despite generating revenues of around 3.3 billion euros in Germany, Computacenter's DACH revenues are likely to be only slightly above those from Germany, as the company is not present in Austria and only has four small branches in Switzerland.
Cancom, a system house based in Germany, ranked among the Top 25 for the same period, with an estimated 90% of its total turnover of 1.74 billion euros coming from the DACH region.
Axians, an IT subsidiary of the French Vinci Energies group, also made the list, thanks in part to the acquisition of the Fernao Group, which boosted its DACH region turnover to 1.2 billion euros in 2024.
The ACP group, founded in Austria in 1993, achieved a significant milestone in 2024, surpassing the billion-euro mark in the DACH region for the first time in its history.
Adesso SE, another German player, reached the billion-euro turnover mark almost without acquisitions, with a total of 1.297 billion euros across all countries.
It's worth noting that the Lünendonk®-Liste 2025 mentions newcomers like x1F (rank 21) and Exxeta (rank 25) included for the first time, suggesting some turnover in the top ranks that might have excluded others from the 2024 list.
As for the future, CEO Thomas Olemotz of Cancom is optimistic for the second half of 2025 due to potential higher IT investments by the public sector from funds made available by the new federal government for the digitization of administration.
This overview provides a snapshot of the vibrant IT landscape in Germany and the DACH region, with several established players maintaining their positions and newcomers making their mark. The competition promises to remain fierce, as these companies continue to innovate and grow in a rapidly evolving digital world.
