Lively Atmosphere Dominates Rather Ape Gala

In the heart of Rath, a neighbourhood known for its strong community spirit, the annual Rather Aape gala took place on Saturday, February 22nd. The event, filled with laughter, music, and celebration, was a testament to the joy that the community of Rath embodies, with its motto being "In Rath, where joy is made!"

The evening began with President Tobias Glöck setting the tone for a humorous and entertaining session. His light-hearted approach immediately warmed the crowd, setting the stage for an enjoyable night.

One of the highlights of the evening was the performance by Hildegard Brömmelstrote, who delighted the audience for over 30 minutes. Known for her versatility, she graced the stage as both Hildegard Brömmelstrote and Martina Gorden, marking her Düsseldorf premiere in Rath. Her act, filled with wit and charm, was so well-received that she was given an encore.

However, not all performances went as smoothly. Comedian Martin Fromme faced a restless hall, a testament to the high expectations set by the evening's events.

The Prince's couple, along with the little monkey Tobi, were celebrated enthusiastically. Their appearance added a touch of royal charm to the festivities.

The Prince's Guard Blau-Weiss, led by President Ute Heierz-Krings and Commander Mark Daus, also participated in the event, adding a sense of tradition and pageantry to the proceedings.

The rhythm sports group, the pageant bearers, and the flag twirlers were integral parts of the event's programme, adding a lively and energetic element to the evening. Alt Schuss, in particular, energized the hall, encouraging singing and dancing from the audience.

The men's ballet of the Hammer Narrenzunft, known as "The Billyboys", concluded the programme with a graceful and captivating performance. Their dance, "Time", was a fitting finale to an evening filled with joy, laughter, and community spirit.

Throughout the evening, Hildegard Brömmelstrote, also known as Martina Gorden, tested the suitability of the Elferrat members, ensuring that the spirit of Rath's joy was maintained throughout the event.

Roland Jansen and Carsten Forg, performing as "Et Zweijestirn", added a touch of local flavour to the proceedings, further enhancing the evening's entertainment.

Despite the occasional hiccup, the Rather Aape gala was a resounding success, a testament to the joy and community spirit that defines the neighbourhood of Rath. As the crowd dispersed, one could sense a shared feeling of happiness and anticipation for the next year's event.
