Local Production in Schmarsow: Youth Taking Charge On-screen and Off-screen

In the picturesque town of Schmarsow, Germany, the "Fuso25" film project is nearing its conclusion. Organised by the Nave Randow Association, this unique holiday camp has been providing a platform for young filmmakers from the Uecker-Randow region and the Uckermark for several days.

The film premiere is scheduled for Friday, September 5, at 3 pm at the Kulturhaus Kino Brüssow, and is open to all interested parties. The project, which has been shot on location in Schmarsow, is a testament to the creativity and dedication of its young participants.

Emely from Nadrensee first heard about the project through information flyers distributed by her school social worker. She finds playing a role in the film enjoyable, but also appreciates the learning opportunities in film directing and camera work. Basia, another participant, praises the variety of activities offered, including acting exercises, extensive filming, and film editing. Selma from Grenz near Prenzlau, one of the youngest participants, has previously participated in other film camps and aspires to become an actress.

The film's content is tough, dealing with themes such as violence, war, conspiracy, and clans. However, it focuses on the sustainability goal of the Nave Randow Association, specifically industry, innovation, and infrastructure. The script for the film was written during a workshop at Easter.

Two filmmakers, Maximilian Gerbhardt and Marian Hofman, are supporting the project. The young participants are encouraged to contribute as much as possible to the film, and are supported by these experienced filmmakers. Although the names of the youths supporting Maximilian and Marian have not been specifically named in the search results, their contributions are evident in the passion and dedication they bring to the project.

The filming is one of the last scenes being shot during the project. Three days of film editing will follow. Participation in "Fuso25" is free for the young people, made possible by funding from the federal program "Culture makes strong - Alliances for Education".

The partners in the alliance are the cinema in Brüssow and the environmental association Nabu. The project offers activities beyond filmmaking, such as outdoor games on the large grounds of Gut Schmarsow.

For Selma's mother, film camps like "Fuso25" are a great opportunity for her daughter to learn and grow. She found the camp online, and Selma is thrilled to be a part of it. As for the film's title, it remains undetermined, but one thing is certain - the young filmmakers of "Fuso25" are creating a film that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression.
