Local Youth Music Contest:
On February 11, 2025, the Municipal Music School made a remarkable showing at the regional "Jugend musiziert" competition. A total of 15 students from the school participated, and every one of them walked away with a first prize.
The students' impressive performances were led by their dedicated teachers, including Jolina Beuren, who guided the guitar quartet composed of Annabelle Libertus, Emily Libertus, Julius Mertens, and Peter Tischtau.
Among the standout performers were Clara Eckert on the contrabass solo, Fabian Dederer on the violin solo, and Leopold Oktabec on the percussion. Clara, Fabian, Leopold, and a recorder quintet consisting of Luise Dilling, Emma Harreiter, Franziska Just, Julia Niedermeier, and Fabian Schneider have qualified to participate in the state competition in Augsburg.
Unfortunately, some students were unable to advance to the state competition due to their age. This includes Kilian Oktabec on the percussion, cellist Maria Bahle, and the recorder trio with Marissa Ender, Paula Weidenthaler, and Anna Freudenstein, who also won a first prize in the regional competition. The guitar duo Miriam Hüsken and Fabian Lemmerich also faced the same age-related restriction.
This achievement by the students, their teachers, and parents involves mastering many logistical tasks. It's a testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent that abounds at the Municipal Music School. The students are now preparing to compete in the state competition in Augsburg, where they hope to continue their winning streak.
