Locked-down status for Hermülheim and Alstädten-Burbach, two German cities
In the heart of Hürth City, the Utilities are embarking on a significant renovation project for district heating pipelines in Hermülheim and Alstädten-Burbach. This construction work, scheduled to take place between March 7 and the end of 2025, will impact public transportation services on bus lines 711, 960, and 978.
The most notable changes will be felt along the bus routes. The "Alstädten Kirche" and "Stotzheimer Straße" bus stops will be temporarily discontinued, and passengers are advised to use the regular stops at "Kampstraße" and "De Bütt" instead. City bus line 711 will run a loop of Hermülheimer Straße, Kampstraße, and Von-Geyr-Ring in both directions, serving only one side of the street.
The intersection of Frechener Straße and Sudetenstraße will be closed from March 7 to 12, 2025. However, pedestrians and cyclists are not restricted during the construction work.
Starting around March 24, 2025, the Hermülheimer Straße will be closed to through traffic up to the intersection of Stotzheimer Straße. This full closure will affect city bus line 711, as well as regional bus lines 960 and 978. The renovation and pipeline laying are scheduled to take place between March 7 and March 24, 2025. Following this, the Leitungslage for the district heating supply at Hermülheimer Straße and Stotzheimer Straße/Brunnenstraße will be carried out by RheinEnergie AG starting from March 24, 2025.
