London-based brand TOAST has claimed ownership of a townhouse in the heart of the city to host a celebration for their latest design line. We were among the select few granted early access to witness the enchanting tribute to design.

Fashion and homeware brand TOAST is hosting an exciting three-day event titled "The Curious Mind" in Cavendish Square, London, from September 2 to September 7, 2025.

The exhibition is a celebration of creativity and community among designers, makers, writers, artists, and other creatives. Housed in a Grade II-listed Georgian Townhouse, the event offers free tickets and on-site activities for visitors to enjoy.

The exhibition space features unfinished, pale terracotta-hued walls and vertiginously tall ceilings, transformed into an artwork with quilted textile sculptures and signature TOAST items. The exhibition includes posters from previous TOAST collections, as well as the latest TOAST designs, presented in a grid-like gallery room.

One of the highlights of the exhibition is the poetic installation, The Rhythm of Papermaking, by Cave Paper Studio. Made from Belgian flax fiber and natural dyes, the installation references the vibrancy of Arizona's desert landscapes.

In addition to the paper sculptures, the exhibition showcases various creative pieces. Hannah Rafaat has recast a mid-century modern Bröderna Andersson solid oak armchair using waste pigment from TOAST's production and traditional Japanese patchworking. Madeleine Kemsley has transformed an Ercol Windsor armchair with a woven, fantastical pond-like setting.

The event launched last night with a temporary multi-room installation and live music provided by the performance group WOOM. The Reading Room, located to the front of the building at 14 Cavendish Square, is filled with coffee table books, vintage orange Penguin classics, design collectibles, and conversation nooks, courtesy of Vinterior.

Visitors can also participate in various free on-site activities, including a panel talk, a bookbinding workshop, a still life class, poetry writing, reading sessions, and soundscapes. The concept for "The Curious Mind" is inspired by a quote from pioneering modernist painter Georgia O'Keeffe, emphasizing the importance of interest in life.

Laura Shippey, the creative director of TOAST, was involved in the conception of "The Curious Mind." This exhibition is yet another testament to TOAST's commitment to fostering a creative community and promoting sustainable practices in the fashion and homeware industry. The exhibition continues through September 7 at 14 Cavendish Square, London. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a world of creativity and community.
