Introducing the LEVC TX and LEVC VN5: Electric Vehicles for the German Market
The London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) has made a significant entry into the German market with two innovative vehicles: the LEVC TX, a modern take on the iconic London Cab, and the LEVC VN5, a versatile urban delivery van.
The LEVC TX
Launched in 2018, the LEVC TX boasts an extended range of approximately 490 kilometers, thanks to its unique eCity technology. This technology allows for purely electric, locally emission-free driving with a WLTP range of 100 kilometers on electric power alone. The vehicle is equipped with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder Volvo engine as a range extender, which kicks in when the battery is depleted. The top speed of the LEVC TX is limited to 128 km/h.
The LEVC TX is a practical choice for city driving, with a turning circle of 10.1 meters, making it ideal for navigating tight urban streets. As of July 2021, the starting price for the LEVC TX in Germany is 73,093 euros. Charging the battery to 80 percent takes 25 minutes with 50 kW charging power.
The LEVC VN5
The LEVC VN5, a van based on the LEVC TX, is scheduled to arrive in Germany in 2021. This versatile vehicle is suitable for urban delivery traffic, offering a driving range of up to 100 kilometers emission-free. It uses an electric motor, a 31 kWh battery, and a gasoline engine as a range extender.
The LEVC VN5 has a maximum loading capacity of 5.5 cubic meters and 735 kilograms. It's a practical choice for businesses looking to reduce their carbon footprint while maintaining the efficiency required for urban deliveries.
The LEVC e-Camper
In addition to the LEVC TX and VN5, LEVC is also introducing the LEVC e-Camper to the German market at the end of 2021. This vehicle is designed for campers, offering space for four people with four beds, a small kitchen, and a foldable table.
The LEVC e-Camper is equipped with two sleeping options created by folding out the roof, and the first row of seats can be rotated 180 degrees, while the second row can be slid back. The price for the LEVC e-Camper starts at 73,000 euros (as of July 2021).
The LEVC TX, LEVC VN5, and LEVC e-Camper are all investments by Geely, a Chinese automotive multinational corporation. These vehicles represent a significant step forward in sustainable urban mobility, offering a combination of electric power, range extender technology, and practical design.
