Lorraine O'Moore appointed as the Workforce Development Manager at BE NKY Growth Partnership
In a move to bolster its economic development efforts, BE NKY Growth Partnership has appointed Lorraine O'Moore as the new Workforce Development Manager. O'Moore brings over 30 years of experience in workforce development to her new role, having worked with prospective and existing Northern Kentucky companies to understand their workforce needs and create customized talent solutions.
O'Moore's appointment comes at a crucial time for BE NKY, as the organization recently launched its Build + Elevate NKY Investor Campaign in 2022. The campaign, which raised more than $4.6 million, established four initiatives, including addressing workforce solutions and requirements of tomorrow.
Kimberly Rossetti, Vice President of Economic Development at BE NKY Growth Partnership, praised O'Moore's extensive experience and strong relationships, stating that she is a valuable addition to their economic development team. "Lorraine's expertise in workforce development, coupled with her deep roots in the Northern Kentucky community, make her an ideal fit for this role," Rossetti said.
In her most recent role as Director of Work-Based Learning at NaviGo, O'Moore facilitated 25 tours for 605 high school students at 12 manufacturers, including ZEISS and Steinhauser, in October 2024. She also assisted businesses with developing tailored work-based learning programs and robust talent pipelines.
O'Moore's commitment to the Northern Kentucky community runs deep. She has been a resident of the region for 10 years and is a 2022 graduate of Leadership Northern Kentucky (LNK). She also co-chairs LNK's "Talent Pipeline Day" committee.
In addition to her work with existing businesses, O'Moore will also oversee BE NKY's strategic investments in K-12 programs that strengthen the region's future talent pipeline. This includes initiatives like the one launched in May, where BE NKY, along with EducateNKY and the Spirit of Construction Foundation, invested $860,000 into three Northern Kentucky education non-profit organizations. Learning Grove's NaviGo College and Career Prep, Adopt A Class, and TradesNKY were among the recipients of these investments.
One of O'Moore's most notable achievements is the establishment of the NKY College & Career Counselor Network. In 2007, she graduated from the Open University with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in developmental and social psychology, and youth perspectives and practices.
O'Moore was also recognised for her contributions to workforce development when she was named "Workforce Professional of the Year" in 2024 by the Northern Kentucky Workforce Investment Board.
With O'Moore at the helm, BE NKY is poised to deliver customized workforce solutions to better support existing businesses, community partners, and companies in Northern Kentucky. Her expertise and dedication to the region will undoubtedly play a significant role in shaping the future of workforce development in Northern Kentucky.
