The Booming Scene
In March 2024, Louisiana's casinos raked in a whopping $210.9 million, marking a significant 11.9% increase from the previous year's revenue of $188.5 million.
Leading the pack, Caesars New Orleans posted a stunning $30 million, a 35.1% surge from its earnings last year.
The Big Players
According to the Louisiana State Police, eight out of Louisiana's 15 riverboat casinos recorded monthly revenues surpassing the $10 million mark: Horseshoe Bossier City ($11.5 million), Live! Casino ($12.3 million), Margaritaville ($15.8 million), L'Auberge Lake Charles ($28.4 million), Golden Nugget Lake Charles ($28.6 million), Boomtown North Orleans ($11.3 million), Treasure Chest ($14.7 million), and L'Auberge Baton Rouge ($17 million).
In Baton Rouge, Belle of Baton Rouge, The Queen Baton Rouge, and L'Auberge Baton Rouge reported revenue increases, while Treasure Chest nearly doubled its earnings from $7.9 million to $14.7 million, translating to a massive 46.1% year-over-year jump.
Notable Declines
However, not all casinos were lucky. L'Auberge Lake Charles and Golden Nugget Lake Charles combined earnings dropped from a combined $61 million last year to over $57 million in March 2024. Margaritaville saw a 13% slump from $18.1 million. Additionally, Boomtown Bossier, Bally's Shreveport, Horseshoe Bossier City, and Sam's Town also witnessed declines in March.
