Luxury SUV unveiled: Arden AR8 City Roader based on Range Rover Evoque announced
New Limited Edition Range Rover Evoque and Arden AR8 City Roader Unveiled
Land Rover has unveiled a new limited edition of the Range Rover Evoque, the Sicilian Yellow Limited Edition, complete with the new Evoque Black Design Pack. The reveal took place on Thursday night at Kensington Palace. This is the first special edition Range Rover Evoque from Land Rover, apart from the Victoria Beckham Evoque Special Edition.
Meanwhile, German tuner Arden has revealed a modified version of the Range Rover Evoque, named the Arden AR8 City Roader. Unlike the Sicilian Yellow Limited Edition, the Arden AR8 City Roader is a customized version of the Range Rover Evoque, which has not yet been launched.
The Arden AR8 City Roader delivers an additional 30bhp and some additional torque to the EcoBoost lump. Arden has added a set of Dakar II alloys and a subtle body kit to the Range Rover Evoque for the Arden AR8 City Roader. Buyers can opt to have the sills illuminated and a plaque with their name on the alloys.
Arden feels it's best to strike with the Evoque before it arrives in showrooms this Summer, when buyers realize it doesn't need gilding. This is not the first pre-launch reveal from Arden, as they also revealed the Jaguar XJ by Arden - the AJ22 before it launched.
In other Land Rover news, the company is planning to drop the Freelander badge when the new Freelander arrives in 2014. Instead of the Freelander, Land Rover will make the new model part of a core range of new Discovery SUVs. The new model will be expected to arrive in 2014, but specific details about its features have not been released.
