Mahindra seeks out land for a new manufacturing site; aims to strengthen their service infrastructure

Mahindra & Mahindra, the Indian automobile giant, has unveiled ambitious expansion plans for its service network and production capacity. The new architecture of the company is designed to cater to segments in India and global markets.

The service network expansion will happen across urban, semi-urban, and rural regions, with Mahindra aiming to expand its service network by 150-200 outlets each year. This expansion is considered as important as increasing dealerships by the company, with the service network expected to grow by 10-15% every year. Currently, Mahindra's service network stands at around 1,100 outlets.

In terms of production, Mahindra & Mahindra Auto Division CEO Nalinikanth Gollagunta has stated that the company is looking to increase production capacity at its Chakan-based plant by 2.4 lakh units. The company has also announced plans to enhance service capacity at the existing sites.

Mahindra's brand has gained popularity in urban areas, in addition to semi-urban and rural areas. Some of the vehicles in its lineup include the Mahindra BE 6, which boasts a battery capacity of 79 kWh and a claimed range of 682 km, and the Mahindra XUV 400 EV, with a battery capacity of 39.4 kWh and a claimed range of 456 km. The Mahindra e20 NXT is expected to have a battery capacity of 15 kWh and a claimed range of 140 km.

The company has an announced product pipeline on existing architectures, with the Mahindra XUV500 2025 expected to have a diesel engine and a price range of ₹ 12 Lakhs. The Mahindra Thar E is expected to have a battery capacity of 75 kWh and a claimed range of 400 km.
