In a significant shift towards electric mobility, a recent survey by Dataforce reveals that more and more fleets in Germany are going electric. The study, commissioned by the Austrian provider of electric car subscriptions, vibe moves you, found that three out of four fleets in Germany are increasingly relying on electromobility, with large fleets at 95 percent.

The trend is particularly noticeable among larger fleets of 20 vehicles or more, where electric cars are playing an increasingly significant role. One of the most prominent examples is the Deutsche Post DHL Group, the largest fleet operator association in Germany that has almost completely switched to electromobility. The group is known for its extensive electric vehicle fleet, including the Streetscooter, making it one of the biggest and most advanced in electrification.

The survey also found that 23 percent of German fleets have taken significant steps towards electric mobility, with some companies incorporating electric vehicles into their own model range or installing charging stations at their facilities. However, smaller fleet operators may still be somewhat cautious about electromobility.

Martin Rada, Managing Director of vibe moves you, suggests that modern electric vehicles are fully suited to everyday use and that low-threshold offers, such as providing an electric car through a salary conversion, can help overcome fears and permanently shift mindsets.

Mark Odinius, founder and CEO of Dataforce, states that the trend is clear. "Seven percent of German fleets are already fully electric, and the number is growing," he says. The survey, which polled 200 fleet managers from larger and smaller fleets in Germany, supports this claim.

The findings of the survey are in line with other analyses, such as one that found that 35 percent of German fleets have taken at least initial steps towards electric mobility. As more and more companies adopt electromobility, it is likely that the trend will continue to rise.

In conclusion, Germany's fleet managers are increasingly opting for electromobility, with large fleets leading the way. The survey suggests that modern electric vehicles are well-suited for everyday use and that low-threshold offers can help overcome fears and accelerate the shift towards electrification. As the benefits of electric mobility become more apparent, it is likely that even smaller fleet operators will follow suit.
