Marketplace of Opportunities in Wersten, Düsseldorf: A hub where employment opportunities abound for all job seekers

On Saturday, March 22, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the Stephanushaus of the Evangelical Congregation at Wiesdorfer Straße 13 will play host to an Honorary Service Fair. This event aims to showcase the vibrant community of Wersten, offering a glimpse into the various activities, clubs, and organizations that make up this thriving neighbourhood.

The fair will feature a diverse range of offerings, from church activities and carnival events to sports clubs and cultural huts. Some of the highlights include the board game meeting, new cultural hut offers, AWO Aktiv-Treff, and the reading club.

One of the co-organisers of the fair, Dirk Rauchmann, is a familiar face to many Werstener residents due to his involvement in various community activities. Joining him will be Pastor Hartmut Wölk, Michael Makoschey, Sabrina Hantke, and Julia Thomassen, all of whom are eager to share the opportunities available for volunteering within the community.

The fair is organised by a collaborative effort between the Werbegemeinschaft Wir in Wersten e.V., Wäschte 161 Kultur Bud Wersten, AWO Aktiv- and Community Center, Wersten Community Center of Caritas, and Stephanushaus of the Evangelical Church.

The event serves as a call for reinforcements for the "Wir in Wersten" group, particularly for their festival volunteer work. Nearly 20 groups and associations are looking forward to many interested Werstener residents at the fair.

Engaging in volunteer work at the fair offers benefits for both parties. Not only does it contribute to the community, but it also provides opportunities to meet new people and become more involved in the local scene. The time commitment for volunteering can vary greatly, from moving beer tent furniture once at a summer festival to maintaining files in the background or having children read to you.

Requirements for volunteer work may include prevention training, a police clearance certificate, or hygiene education. However, costs will be covered, and some providers may offer accident insurance or an honorary card.

The fair invites everyone, including associations, institutions, clubs, groups, congregations, and others, to present themselves and seek support from volunteers or new members. Interested parties can find out about potential participation in various groups through personal conversations at the fair.

So, if you're looking to get more involved in your local community, mark your calendars for March 22 and head over to the Stephanushaus of the Evangelical Congregation at Wiesdorfer Straße 13. It's a fantastic opportunity to learn about the various groups in Wersten and find a way to contribute to this thriving community.
