Markets in Dresden granted extended continuance for another week
Dresden Re-Tenders Weekly Markets: Deadline Approaches
The city of Dresden is re-tendering the concession for the organization and conduct of twelve weekly markets, with a focus on maintaining diversity and attractiveness. The tender, which was published on July 10, 2025, in the electronic gazette of the state capital of Dresden, is open to companies that can take over the overall responsibility for all twelve markets.
The tendered markets include a mix of central places and neighborhood markets, such as Alaunplatz, Königstraße, Hellerau, Jacob-Winter-Platz, Kopernikusstraße, Münchner Platz, Reißigerstraße, Lingnerallee, Schillerplatz, Stralsunder Straße, Böhnischplatz, and Wasaplaz. The market activities are expected to ensure a professional and reliable conduct of at least 750 market days per year, starting from February 1, 2026.
The concession will initially be awarded for a period of three years, from February 1, 2026 to January 31, 2029, with an optional extension of up to two years until January 31, 2031. The organization of the markets should be professional and customer-friendly, and the market areas are provided by the state capital.
All companies have until August 8, 2025, to apply for the concession to organize and conduct the twelve weekly markets in Dresden. Applications can be submitted either in writing to the Economic Development Office or by email to [email protected]. The deadline for applications is August 8, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
Partial offers for the tendered markets are excluded, and the complete tender documents can be accessed at www.dresden.de/maerkte. The aim of the tender is to further develop the market activities to secure the markets in the long term.
