Marking a decade of innovation: 10th Annual CICD Data Summit
Announcing the 10th Anniversary CICD Event: Empowering Indigenous Economies
The Center for Indian Country Development (CICD) at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is hosting a two-day virtual event on October 8 and 9, 2025. This year's event, marking CICD's 10th anniversary, aims to build economies and empower Indigenous generations through relationship-building and collaboration among Indigenous entrepreneurs and their partners.
The event will feature educational seminars on Indigenous economy and workforce development, roundtable discussions with tribal leadership, and keynote speeches from a diverse array of Indian Country thought leaders and economic experts.
Among the speakers confirmed for the event are Senator Tina Smith from the U.S. Senate (Minnesota), Dawson Her Many Horses from Wells Fargo, Cory Blankenship from NAFOA, and Neel Kashkari from the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Other notable speakers include Alisha L. Murphy from the Navajo Nation Division of Economic Development, Maranda Compton from the Delaware Tribe of Indians, and Leonard "Lenny" Fineday from the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
The event will introduce tribes across the country to the Survey of Native Nations, a collaboration between CICD and tribal governments. This survey aims to equip tribal leaders with benchmark public finance data, fostering informed decision-making and sustainable economic growth.
Indian Country's contributions to the overall economy and the role of research and data in strengthening Native economies for the next seven generations will be a focus of the event. Leading experts will reflect on these topics, sharing insights and emerging opportunities for Native communities to leverage economic data.
In addition to the main event, the second day will feature a special milestone-year edition of CICD's annual data summit. This day will delve deeper into economic topics of interest, including tribal public finance, access to capital, and economic diversification.
The CICD event will bring together leaders from Indian Country, the Federal Reserve System, and others to collaborate and discuss strategies for economic advancement in Native communities.
For more information about the event, visit the CICD website or contact the event organisers. The event will be held online, making it accessible to attendees from all over the country. Don't miss this opportunity to learn, network, and contribute to the empowerment of Indigenous economies.
