The total kilometers collected by all participants this year is over 24,000, demonstrating the motivation, team spirit, and endurance of the city society.
The city cycling challenge is part of a larger initiative to promote sustainable mobility and environmental protection. Antje Hamel, the city's cycling officer, states that every kilometer cycled in the city cycling challenge contributes to making Markkleeberg more environmentally friendly. Participants can track their kilometers at www.stadtradeln.de/markkleeberg.
Antje Hamel encourages those who want to participate to join the city cycling challenge in Markkleeberg. Registration is open until September 6, 2025, and the challenge is ongoing for three weeks.
