Maruti Suzuki Agrees to Collaborate with DPIIT in Support of New Businesses

Maruti Suzuki, the leading automobile manufacturer in India, has taken a significant step forward in its commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship. The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), reinforcing India's leadership in next-gen industrial innovation.

The partnership between Maruti Suzuki and DPIIT is intended to help startups develop market-ready mobility and manufacturing solutions. Shri Sanjiv, Joint Secretary at DPIIT, expressed that the MoU aims to create a robust platform for startups to transform their ideas into market-ready solutions.

Rahul Bharti, Senior Executive Officer of Corporate Affairs at Maruti Suzuki, stated that the partnership with DPIIT will help accelerate Maruti Suzuki's efforts to support promising startups in creating technology-led solutions for the automobile manufacturing and mobility space.

Maruti Suzuki has already added 28 startups as its suppliers in the past six years. The collaboration with DPIIT is expected to help startups create technology-led solutions in the automobile manufacturing and mobility space.

Through DPIIT's Startup India initiative, all recognized startups can participate in Maruti Suzuki's startup programs. These programs include Accelerator, Incubation, Mobility Challenge, and Nurture, which provide a platform for startups to connect with incubators, accelerators, and investors.

Startups participating in Maruti Suzuki's programs will get a chance to work closely with the automobile giant, gaining valuable insights and potential opportunities for collaboration. Notably, 15 high-potential startups from Maruti Suzuki’s Innovation Alumni network participate in these programs.

The MoU between Maruti Suzuki and DPIIT is a step towards creating a platform for startups to transform their ideas into market-ready solutions. The partnership between Maruti Suzuki and DPIIT is a testament to the companies' shared vision of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in India.

The collaboration is with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, and is expected to help startups transform their ideas into market-ready solutions in the automobile manufacturing and mobility sectors. The partnership between Maruti Suzuki and DPIIT is intended to further support startups in the automotive and mobility space, contributing to India's leadership in next-gen industrial innovation.
