Marvel Season 4 Launch Date, Angela Character Reveal, Patch Updates, and Further Particulars
Marvel Rivals, the popular superhero brawler game, is set to unveil Season 4, bringing a host of exciting new features and characters to the fore. The new season is set to release on Friday, September 12, 2025, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PS4 platforms.
New Heroes and Team-ups
Two new heroes, Angela and Daredevil, are joining the roster. Angela, the Vanguard hero, marks the first new tank since Emma Frost at the start of Season 2. Daredevil's role in Season 4.5 is yet to be confirmed. Notable team-ups include Black Panther, Magik, and the new Divine Armoury team-up between Angela and Thor. In the Divine Armoury team-up, Thor can throw a spear that restores Thorforce upon hit and allows him to leap towards the impact for a second burst of damage.
Gameplay Enhancements
The game has introduced a dedicated slow walk button on PC, allowing players more control over their movements. New accessories are also available, adding a touch of personalisation to your hero. The Ultimate ability VFX customisation will now be visible to all players by default.
Map and Mode Changes
A new map, K'un-Lun Heart of Heaven, is introduced in Convergence mode. Two permanent modes, Arcade mode: Clone Rumble and Giant-Size Brain Blast, have also been added.
Balance Changes and Favourites Section
Balance changes have been made in the game to ensure fair and engaging gameplay. Players can now add their favourite heroes to a favourites section of the hero selection screen for easier access. Notably, Magneto, Phoenix, Cloak & Dagger, and other prominent heroes do not see changes in this patch.
Gallery Card Download Feature and Black Panther's Gamma Charge
The new Gallery Card download feature allows players to save their favourite cards for offline viewing. Black Panther gains a gamma shield when his health gets low in the Gamma Charge team-up with Hulk and Namor.
Mid-Season Update and Release Time
The mid-season update, Season 4.5, is scheduled to launch on or around Friday, October 10, 2025. The release time is after server downtime at 1 am PDT / 4 am EST / 9 am GMT.
New Team-up: Arcane Order
Magik links two enemies together to apply a slow debuff that scales based on the distance they were apart before being pulled together in the Arcane Order team-up with Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch.
Custom Colours and Moods in Chat
Custom colours and Moods in chat are now available, allowing players to express themselves more creatively during gameplay.
