Kylian Mbappe Equals Thierry Henry's International Goal Record for France

Kylian Mbappe has equaled Thierry Henry's record for the most international goals scored for France, after a stunning performance against Ukraine in the World Cup qualifier.

Mbappe's 51st goal for France came during a swift counterattack, set up by Aurelien Tchouameni, sealing a 2-0 victory for the French team. The match, played at the Wroclaw Stadium in Poland, marked a significant milestone in Mbappe's impressive international career.

Mbappe, who began representing France in 2017, has had a remarkable run, having won the 2018 World Cup and the 2020-21 Nations League with the national team. He has also served as the team's captain.

Despite equaling Henry's record, Mbappe does not seem to be focusing on surpassing Olivier Giroud's all-time scoring record for France. Giroud, who leads the list with 57 goals, has retired from international football after the 2024 European Championship.

Mbappe has shown respect and admiration for both Henry and Giroud, acknowledging the honor of equaling a player like Henry. He has also stated that he aims to surpass Henry's record and win titles with France.

France's next match will be against Iceland in Group D at Parc des Princes on Tuesday. With Mbappe's continued impressive form, the team will be looking to secure another victory and move closer to qualification for the World Cup.
