Measurements of Speed on A42 Motorway - Updated Traffic Control in the Motorway's Zone

In the bustling Herne motorway junction, a driver was caught speeding last Sunday evening. According to the Münster Police, the vehicle was measured traveling at 155 km/h, significantly above the permitted speed limit of 60 km/h in this area.

The Herne motorway junction, a key traffic hub within the jurisdiction of the Münster motorway police, has been the centre of attention recently due to ongoing construction works. Last weekend, from 15.08. to 18.08., the A42 was closed in the area of the junction, and the traffic management within the large construction site, especially on the A42, has been extensively redesigned. Among other changes, the lanes of both directions of the A42 are now physically separated for a short stretch.

Due to the narrowed lanes, ongoing construction traffic, and frequently changing traffic management, there are various speed limits within the motorway junction. The fine amount for the speeding violation is 700 euros, and the driver also faces a 3-month driving ban and 2 points in Flensburg. A fine procedure has been initiated against the driver of the vehicle.

However, the search results do not provide the name of the driver who was caught speeding near the Herne highway interchange on Sunday evening or any information about a related fine proceeding.

For media inquiries, the contact is the Münster Police Press Office, which can be reached via email at [email protected] or by telephone at 0251/ 275- 1010. The official website for the Münster Police is muenster.polizei.nrw.

On a positive note, the new Baukau tunnel will be opened on Monday (18.08.). This is another step forward in the ongoing construction works in the area.

Speeding violations are a serious matter, and the Münster Police urges all drivers to adhere to the speed limits and traffic regulations to ensure the safety of all road users.
