Metropolitan's dominance by Los Pericos' hypnotic reggae style, despite deviating from traditional genres.

In a heartwarming evening filled with music and emotion, Los Pericos brought the sounds of Jamaica and the spirit of Haile Selassie to Argentina's Teatro Metropolitan. The band, now carrying the torch of reggae music for almost four decades, offered a captivating concert of 26 songs that resonated with the audience.

Juanchi Baileron, the group's leader since 2005, demonstrated the adaptation of Mexican culture with his passionate performance. He even dedicated a reggae version of Joan Sebastian's "Tattoos" to the late musician, expressing his love and conviction for the genre.

The concert was a musical journey through time, with songs like "The Hyena", "Stop and Look", "His Gallant", and "Hot" filling the air. A notable highlight was the performance of "The Look", a musically complex and beautiful song, seemingly for the first time since Bahiano left the band.

The audience was left standing throughout the evening, emotionally moved by the performance. Songs like "Complicated and Confused", "Waiting", "Runaway", and "Distant Pupils" seemed to strike a chord with the crowd, eliciting a response of appreciation and admiration.

Los Pericos, a reggae band that managed to transport and Latinize reggae sounds when it was exclusively a Jamaican genre, once again proved their ability to connect with audiences across borders. The band's upcoming concert tour in Mexico, scheduled for August 22, 2025, at Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City, promises to be another unforgettable event.

Maribel Guardia, a well-known figure in the entertainment industry, dedicated a moving message to Joan Sebastian, expressing her admiration for his music and the impact it had on her life. The concert was a testament to the enduring power of music and the ability of artists like Los Pericos to transcend cultural boundaries and touch the hearts of people around the world.
