Mexican fashion designer Lorena Saravia becomes the first to partner with H&M
In an exciting turn of events, Mexican designer Lorena Saravia has teamed up with Swedish fashion giant H&M, marking a significant step in promoting Mexican fashion on a global scale. This collaboration will see Saravia become the first Mexican designer to create a collection for the renowned fashion brand.
The urban and versatile collection, set to launch in Fall/Winter 2025, boasts a colour palette filled with poetic desert tones. From neutral hues ranging from white to earthy tones, to the ever-chic black, the collection promises to offer a unique blend of style and culture.
Denim pieces, including mini skirts, jeans, and jackets in a slightly faded black, form a significant part of the collection. For those seeking a more laid-back vibe, the collection offers sweatshirts and a t-shirt proudly bearing Mexico's name on the chest.
The collection also includes a variety of statement pieces, such as fringed jackets, chaparreras, and cowboy hats. For the elegant woman of today, ultra-feminine blouses and evening dresses are also on offer.
Lorena Saravia's designs reflect a deep connection to her roots, catering to the modern, contemporary, and elegant woman. Her cowboy boots, an emblematic model with gaiters, are presented in a rich chocolate-toned suede in the H&M collection.
Accessories in the collection include bags, belts, and lion earrings inspired by Saravia's grandmother's earrings, as well as a cowboy hat.
Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M's creative advisor, has expressed admiration for Saravia's ability to draw inspiration from her heritage and Mexican craftsmanship to create something fresh and original. Johansson believes that this collaboration will inspire other fashion brands to work with Mexican designers.
The collection will be available for purchase at H&M stores and online from October 16. With the collection set to sell out within hours, fashion enthusiasts are advised to act fast.
Lorena Saravia hopes that every woman who wears her designs feels inspired and empowered. With this collaboration, she is not just bringing Mexican fashion to the world, but also empowering women to embrace their roots and culture in their fashion choices.
