Michigan steps up actions against offshore gambling platforms
New and Improved Version:
Hawk-eyed on the gambling scene, the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) is back on the offensive against unauthorized offshore casinos. Lately, they've served a hefty dose of cease-and-desist letters, targeting five suspects: BetWhale Casino, Black Lotus Casino, Coins Game Casino, Love2play Casino, and Orion Stars 777 Players.

This isn't the first rodeo for the MGCB as they've made headlines in the past few months for clamping down on these illicit operations. In their latest skirmish, they've selected these specific casinos because their questionable practices bend Michigan's gaming rules and jeopardize consumers with inadequate protection.
The MGCB pinned these websites for breaching the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, the Michigan Penal Code, and a myriad of other regulations.
The regulator argues that these operators accept traditional payment methods such as credit cards and cryptocurrencies but slap on tough withdrawal conditions, the most extreme being players must wager through their deposit multiple times before claiming their winnings.
"Protecting Michigan residents remains our top priority. These suspicious casinos need to shutter their operations or face dire consequences," said Henry Williams, Executive Director of the MGCB.
The relentless pursuit of the MGCB
Just a couple of weeks ago, the MGCB took similar action against nine other offshore gambling sites. In both instances, the regulator left no doubt they'd be eager to collaborate with the state's Attorney General, targeting transgressors who fail to play by their rules.
In late January, the MGCB laid its sights on MyBookie. Over time, this dogged agency has successfully taken down some of the USA's largest offshore gambling heavyweights. Chances are, this won't be the last time the MGCB roots out unlicensed operators.
