Microsoft Has Been Recognized as the Cannes Lions Creative Marketer of the Year
The prestigious Cannes Lions festival, a celebration of advertising excellence, has recognised Microsoft with multiple awards over the years.
Held annually, the Cannes Lions festival honours advertisers who have demonstrated consistent success with Lions awards. In 2019, the spotlight was on Microsoft, as the tech giant was awarded 11 Lions, including five for McCann New York's "Changing the Game" campaign.
The "Changing the Game" campaign was a significant part of Microsoft's 2019 success at the festival. It won a Titanium Lion and a Grand Prix for Brand and Activation, and was also awarded a Grand Prix in 2019.
Burger King was the recipient of the Creative Marketer of the Year award at the Cannes Lions festival in 2017. In 2021, Microsoft took home the same accolade. Google received the Creative Marketer of the Year award in 2018, while Apple was honoured with the title in 2020.
The Cannes Lions festival has a history of recognising outstanding campaigns over a period of time. In 2019, the festival honoured Microsoft's "Changing the Game" campaign with multiple Lions.
However, the festival was canceled due to the spread of the pandemic in the previous year. This year, the festival will be held entirely online.
The "Changing the Game" campaign by McCann New York for Microsoft was a notable success in 2019, and it continues to be a testament to Microsoft's commitment to innovative and impactful advertising.
